What does Talent Cottage offer?

Talent Cottage helps U.S. small businesses connect with vetted, skilled Filipino professionals. Specific custom searches are instituted only upon request and are not made available to the public, neither is any information provided to a wide audience of business or a segment of industry on this platform or any other. Candidates are specifically vetted based upon the requirements of each search and then information regarding that candidate is provided to the company that instituted the search. It is a true bespoke service.

To the specific companies that engage us, we provide:


- Carefully vetted, highly qualified workers for the specific requirements of the company

- A range of skill sets to support various business needs of the company

- Seamless placement process and ongoing support to the company

-Simple, customizable document templates and e-signing services as a convenience to our clients

Most companies choose to hire these remote professionals as independent contractors. But this is a decision that is up to each company to make for themselves after consultation with their legal and tax professionals.

What does Talent Cottage not offer?

Talent Cottage does not provide:


- Direct employees for your business
- HR management services
- Tax advice or guidance
- Regulatory compliance advice

- An information or job board that is available to the public or to a segment of industry

We connect you with skilled Filipino professionals after a search is conducted after learning the specific needs of your company, but these individuals are not employees of Talent Cottage. We do not handle payroll, benefits, or other HR functions. Additionally, we cannot offer tax or regulatory advice related to working with international remote professionals. We recommend consulting with appropriate legal and financial advisors for these matters.

What are the costs involved?

- Skilled professionals: $1,500 - $2,500 per month

- Virtual assistants: $800 - $1,000 per month

- One-time placement fee per worker (contact us for details)

Talent Cottage believes its clients will have the best results if the relationship between company and talent is not affected by any middleman. So other than a modest one-time fee, we leave the relationship completely up to you and your remote team.

What if a remote professional leaves or is terminated early?

We offer a 100-day guarantee. If a worker leaves or is terminated within this period, we'll provide another free search and vetting process for a replacement remote professional.

Are there hidden fees?

No. Beyond the one-time placement fee per engagement and the agreed-upon monthly payment to the remote professional (which is solely between you and the remote professional), there are no additional costs.

What are the client's legal responsibilities?

They are the same as if the client were to engage a remote professional themselves. Clients are responsible for complying with applicable tax laws and HR requirements. Most workers are hired as independent contractors. We recommend consulting your tax advisor for specific guidance.

Is a W-8BEN form necessary for remote professionals?

While not strictly required, we recommend obtaining a W-8BEN form. We provide e-signing services during onboarding at no extra charge. Consult your tax advisor for whether this is right for you.

How do you ensure security?

We prioritize security through:

- Thorough background checks

- Character and employer references

- Collection of multiple forms of ID

- Emphasis on Filipino cultural values of integrity and trustworthiness

We recommend applying your standard security measures and gradually increasing access to sensitive information as trust develops.

What does the background check process involve?

Our comprehensive background checks include:


- Character references

- Previous employer verification

- Collection of two valid IDs

- Parent ID for additional security
